Possible faulty video card, Windows stuck at logo

Hey all. So here is the problem.

Yesterday I was using a Linux live CD (CrunchBang) when boom the screen randomly turned all blotchy while I was updating some packages. I was forced to turn off the computer and remove the CD. Then I tried booting into my Ubuntu which I have set up to dual boot with my primary OS, Windows 7. Ubuntu flashed some error codes in black and white across the screen, then crashed. So now I boot into my Windows 7. And it freezes at the logo right about when it is supposed to boot the system.

I was now panicking. I launched Safe Mode and everything worked fine. I uninstalled the Video Card Driver from devmgmt.msc in Safe Mode, and then rebooted starting Windows normally. Everything worked perfectly except the resolution was tiny and Aero was disabled. I adjusted the resolution from the display settings and now it is a decent resolution of 1280x1024.

Here is what bothers me. About a week or two ago my video card burned out not allowing me to get past the BIOS. So I bought a replacement off of eBay and replaced it. Problem solved and everything works for two weeks. Until now where I am getting all of the problems mentioned earlier. My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS.

Could it be that the replacement was also a bad video card? I am saying this because not only does Windows not load when it has the video cards drivers installed, but Ubuntu, Fedora, CrunchBang and multiple other Linux Distros do not boot as well, which leads me to believe that the problem is hardware related. When the drivers were installed they were at the latest version and so were all of my other drivers.

Thanks for your help it is greatly appreciated!

Oh and here are some other system specs

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB (3.25 GB usable)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS (Mentioned at the bottom of the third paragraph :])
System Type: 32-Bit

If you have any questions please ask! Thanks again!
