question about fast ram m17x r3 with ssd
i have a m17x r3 with a intel 2nd gen 2630qm processor. now when i first got it was'nt completely to up to date on my computer knowledge as i had'nt had a good system for a while. in wait of the new laptop to arrive i ordered a 120gb top knotch kingston hyperx ssd (read/write)560/520 benched and kingston hyperx 1866 ram. now when i frist put in the ssd and the memory it all worked and started up. eventually after messing around with it ran into the sata speed problem with port 0 on ssd. moved it to second bay no prob. then got blue screens from fast ram researched and flashed back to A08 bios. also i have a little tweek room on my processor in bios and followed online instructions to bump it up a little ie. short and long duration limit bumped up and the bus speed moved from 9980 to 10019 and ram set to 1866. so my question is even though im running and set on 1866 is my system actually able to use this speed efficently or is it just saying it can do that and just reading at a max stable speed of the rig. um i guess even though u really fast shoes on if you can't run that fast in the first place it not going to make a difference even if the shoe is the right size. ?? not sure if im getting across what im trying to say. but part 2 is even though everything seems to run fine and stable and prime 95 benchmark numbers are higher with the bumped up setup. is it hurting my system? i know all overclocking is bad but any worst then normal i guess. and temps on cpu and gpu idle around 50 52 and on load 65 to 71 only gets 69 to 71 on stuff like battlefield 3 and minecraft with 512x512 texture pack. side note, also have seen everywhere and in multiple post the 2630qm processor won't even run 1600. im guessing that's not the case as i have the 2630qm and ram set to 1866 verified speed with cpuz. is my system just lying to me or did i discover some seceret pc loophole. i don't know any input would be appreciated, ignore the bad grammar.
