Usb3.0 slow speeds with Enclosure
I have a sata II harddrive connected in a Rosewil Rx358 enclosure that outputs USB 3.0.
My relevant pc specs are as follows:
Gigabyte GA-z68x-ud3h-b3 motherboard (has 2 USB 3.0 slots)
Intel i5 2500k processor
8 GB dd3 ram
Sata 3 7200rpm 1tb WD Caviar Blue harddrive connected to sata 3 port on motherboard.
500gb IDE harddrive connected to Ide port on pci-e sata card.
Windows 7 ultimate x64
When I try to transfer a file from the Sata 3 drive to the enclosure my computer immediately gets very slow, and progress seems to stop when the transfer is about 1/8 parts complete. Interestingly, when transferring 8gb of data from the IDE drive to the enclosure it gave a shorter estimate than when transferring 6.5gb data from the sata 3 drive to the enclosure.
What should I do? Thanks.
Also, if its relevant the harddrive in the enclosure is an old drive from my old computer that was 320gb and equally partitioned into 2 parts with vista installed on 1 partition and the other partition being used as storage. I havent formatted it as yet.
EDIT: Now I cant transfer a file to the enclosure at all, it just freezes
