User problem connecting to Network drive.

Hope someone can help. spent a few hour now scratching my head with this.
We have a NAS at my place of work that some people can connect to and some can't.
even though I have full network admin rights I can not connect to it but most users can.
I have tried changing the security setting to not us Group policys and its not made any difference.
I use the run box ie \\devicename\folder to connect but it wont work.
the NAS is plugged directly into a switch via a ethernet cable.

What is the model of your NAS? This may help me figure it out.

Are you able to connect to the NAS via browser?

This is a new one for me, so what you learn I am also learning. I'm also doing a lot of researching into this so that could be the reason for late replies.

Do you have something like bitdefender installed?

Also, does the device show up in the network?

Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> See Full Map

Post a screen shot of the full map.

Try connection to it through command line:
net use [driveletter:] \\servername\sharename /user:username [password]

Let me know if that works. This could also be a problem with network sharing.

It wont connect via the command line either. It will ping.
the nas is showing in the full network map but have just noticed that the next to the Domain in brackets it is saying (Unauthenticated) wonder if that is the cause.
