Is the HP-HPE h9-1210t Phoenix series Desktop Overkill for Me
Gentlemen/Ladies: I am strongly considering the purchase of above HP Desktop. I will use the system for surfing the web and video and photo editing. I am a novice in the area of video and photo editing. I am taking up the craft as a hobby and see where it takes me. The primary components of the system will be as follows:
- Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgrading to Windows 8 when available)
- Processor:3rd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K quad-core processor [3.5GHz, 8MB Shared Cache]
- Memory: 16GB DDR3
- HD: 256GB SSD + 1 TB 7200 HD
- GPU: 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX680 [DVI, HDMI and VGA via adapter]
- Power Supply: 600 Watt
- Liquid Cooling Solution
- Monitor: Looking at Dell 27"2560x1440
The system comes equipped with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere 10
HP's Phoenix series is a favorite of some gamers. I was considering an Imac but decided against it because I wanted to stay with a PC. My question to the forum is are these components a little overkill? The price is not a barrier for me.
