SATA HDD recognized in BIOS but not by Win7 Pro

    Hi,

I installed an old 160GB Seagate Barracuda into my Win7Pro64 machine for some extra storage room. At first it worked fine. I cleaned it out and did a quick format in Windows.

Now Windows does recognize it at all. I see it in the BIOS but it won't show up in Windows.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Does the drive show up in disk management?

    Keg,

Well it just figures that as soon as I posted my first question here on the forum it seems to have fixed itself.

The answer to your question is it did show up in Disk Managment at first, and then it didn't. I checked the connections and it still wouldn't show up.

Now it does show up and I have made it a Simple Volume and given it a drive letter. Hopefully it will stay put this time.
