Canon LIDE 25 WIA Driver Hack for Windows 7 64-bit
PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST - I spoke too soon.
This does eliminate the 'You need a WIA driver' error. It also breaks the twain driver, rendering the scanner useless.
DO NOT try this at home...
This worked for me - hope it helps you...
Seen numerous threads here for the various Canon LIDE scanners regarding the ''You need a WIA driver' error. Here's my fix.
Install the Vista 64-bit WIA driver from the Canon site. After unplugging and replugging the scanner everything works fine.
Clue - the Windows 7 64-bit twain driver file is the same as the Vista 64-bit file. Canon needs to update their site to include the WIA driver under the Windows 7 64-bit group.
