Windows 7: can't connect 3-pin fan connector to mobo

Hi guys. I just received a PC a bought online. The motherboard is a "ASUS 1155 P8H61-M". The thing is that I ordered an extra fan apart with the one that comes with the case, and the thing is that this extra fan they gave me has a 3-pin female connector (see first image).
My motherboard only has 1 male 3-pin connector, and its reserved for the cpu fan. It also
has 1 male 4-pin connector but its occupied but the fan that comes with the case...
There is a weird series of 7 pin connectors in which my fan connector would fit, but I'm not sure if those are meant for fans 'cause to those 7-pin connectors my HDMI audio and USB connectors are connected....



My psu has no 3-pin male connectors, just more female 3-pin ones or some weird 4-big pin ones (see second pic).... what should I do?? Is there some kind of attachment I need to buy?

Those 9-pin USB+Audio connectors are 100% not for fans. Thos're all system component connectors that have very specific purposes. If your motherboard is completely out of system-fan sockets, that's totally fine. Normally a nice rig has way more fans than the motherboard has connections for. You can go to any store and pick up a Molex (the 4-pin plug you've got on the right picture)-to-fan converter cable (even Best Buy I'm sure has some... ridiculously overpriced... ones). If you've got more than 1 extra fan they sell splitters too, and you can even grab 5.25"/3.5" bay controllers that you can control the fanspeeds with on dials and see what rpm they're running.

Just don't go connecting them wherever you see some open pins on the motherboard though man. For direct mobo connections make sure it's specifically 3-pin with the little notch on the underside that your fan plug fits in, and make sure it's labeled "sys fan" or "cpu fan" on the motherboard if you're not sure what kind of connector it is. Hopefully that helps.

Both types are the same thing, one just has exposed pins and the other has a housing around them but they're the exact same things.
