Windows 7: Microphones not Working on Left Side USB's...

So my microphones all of a sudden just stop working when I try to plug them on the left side of my laptop (USB Port) but work perfectly on the right side. It has never done this before. I've tried it with two microphones, and both with the same results. The sound is going through, but the when I try to talk through the microphone when it's plugged into the left, it doesn't work. The USB ports themselves still work fine, I just charged my phone using it and it worked. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks.

EDIT: Solved. Uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the driver just now. And it worked fine.
