Thanks, oh just one more thing to add if i want to get back the space from the LinuX partition back into my c drive can i do or not?

It may be better to use WUBI Linux to start with instead of doing the install. It actually installs into Windows and can be booted as usual but does not create any confusion when/if it ever needs uninstalled/removed.

If you haven't actually installed Linux yet to that Extended/Logical partition, then right click the Extended and click delete, then delete the Free Space that creates, then right click the C: Primary and click Extend to expand C: into the unallocated space.

If you have already installed Linux to that space you are screwed.

Did you use WUBI or did you actually install to a separate partition.

I used the Ubuntu windows installer then I selected it to install to the separate partition, it did all the work within 5 minutes, including formatting the filesystem to what it uses etc.
