The reason to avoid Dynamic is for a HDD that has a booting Windows on it, Dynamic is known to disable the boot function sometimes and Windows, not to mention data will be lost.

I don't have a system on that HDD but if at some point if I need to convert it (dynamic to basic) do I have to format my entire drive or I could do it partition by partition so I can save my data on them?

You would have to do the entire HDD but the Partition Wizard boot CD linked in my earlier post is extremely reliable though backup is always the operable word.

Unknown folder has appeared in my 'My Downloads' folder.
A folder named'-Unsafe-' has appeared in my downloads folder. The obvious thing to do, I suppose, would be to open it to see what is in it, however the clue to NOT doing this is in the folder name!! Has anyone any experience if this??
