    Unable to complete the format on USB


    I tried to install Chrome OS on my USB and after that failed I now can't seem to format my USB.

    HP USB Disk Storage format says "Device media is write protected". So I used HDD low level format tool which actually made Windows do something and prompt me to format before use.

    But now "Unable to complete the format".

    This isn't the first USB for it to do this, I had another one which I did some imaging thing to and I think that's properly dead or maybe not. But I want to focus on this one.

    Welcome to SevenForums.

    Can you please tell us what brand and cpacity USB devices they are?

    Have you purchased some cheap fake pendrives from China?

    These are the first thoughts I get reading your post.
