Windows crashes when formatting USB

Hello, I have a problem with my USB and WINDOWS Explorer "relations".
Everytime I try to look my USB properties or format it, my Windows Explorer stops working and restarts. But it seems other commands fuctions properly: I can copy, delete files, etc. I have tried with different USB keys and it's always the same. I use WINDOWS 7 Home premium edition. Checked the drivers, system say they're ok. What should I do?
