I've found that the best way is with a extremely soft towel (I use cotton diapers for my car and these screens) micro fiber also works but can leave a fine fiber behind. Mist the towel and then wipe while the monitor is off. If needed just increase the pressure a little but don't push hard. Flip the towel over and then lightly buff. I used a special LCD wash but I've used Windex as well with good luck, but again just like with thermal paste installation "less is more" !

It's been so long since purchased but they wear like iron and stay nice and soft. I found these as they look similar if not as padded in the center.

These look perfect for the microfiber side.

My friend told me I should have mixed the water with rub alcohol, would that cause any damage to my screen.

I can't say but for glass cleaning my father has always used between 10-20 percent A to W. For me these screens need more dusting then cleaning and when I clean them 2-3 times a year it's just a mist of solution on a rag and a light even pass with a follow up buff.
