How to get SATA 2 on Dell Studio 1735?

Hi.

I recently built a nice new Ivy Bridge desktop with a SSD drive. It made me feel like my old laptop was useless. So I got the same SSD drive for it (Samsung 830) but the speeds are poor. I wasn#t expecting full sata 3 speeds but I thought the laptop would be capable of sata 2 speeds. Instead I'm being limited to sata 1.5Gbps

I've attached screens

Generation 1 confirmation in Intel Matrix Storage Console

I'm running th latest BIOS on Dell's site A05 (2008) and it's set to AHCI in the BIOS.

Am I stuck with this? Could there be a custom BIOS that would have SATA 2? Any ideas?
