Assuming you've checked with your laptops system specs as to the compatibility of your choices. I would go with the 8 gig of ram and if your mobo supports sata III, I would go with the sata III hard drive (read/write is faster).

Note Sata II = 3.0 and Sata III = 6.0

Memory I would get PNY it runs like a Thorughbread

But you can always go to Crucial ,com and find out what would be best with a system scan

now Hard drives ? if you want speed get a SSD and throw the other hard drive in a enclosure for back up then that laptop will be ready for Take off Literaly

How do go about to I find out if the MB would support sata III ?

@Solarstarshines : will go that way later when i save up enough money .
[BTW, I still have $50.00 gift card at this store , I may as well to use it ..otherwise I would buy them at Crucial]

Look at my specs. I have never had a problem with Kingston in any computer.

Go to the Sony web site and look up the specifications for your particular model.

Got it, Kingston it is . Thanks Ladyback Bear .

@ignatzatsonic : Sony site only shows what MB ,

but doesn't say what it supports .

Well , I'll take a chance to go for Sata III , assuming it's a new model on the market .

    Thank you all .

Having a look here...it says in the overview, it supports usb 3.0 which is a very good indicator that it supports Sata III. Although, your Sony is like my Samsung laptop in that they are very vague in there specifications listings.

If the SATA III is with a Marvell driver the odds are you will have nothing but problems. Intel has got rid of Marvell and I can guarantee it doesn't work with my Asus motherboard.
You have a Intel chip so most likely you have a Intel mother board. The older boards used Marvell and the newer motherboards use a Intel SATA III.
Use this little free program to see what is in your computer.

You can also use that information to update your system specs.
