Unable to watch DVDs on computer

Every time I try to watch a DVD on my computer I get an error message. I have posted a picture of my scvreenshot on what the message says. Any ideas?

Okay, so I have my laptop connected to my TV. If I put the settings to 'duplicate the displays' it won't work, but if I switch it to 'show desktop only on 2' (TV) it works. Not sure why but I'll just stick to that.
