    RAM Compability


    Hello,
    I'm using HP DV6 with Micron 16JSF51264HZ-1G4D1 4GB RAM.
    I'm thinking to add 4 gb ram to at this adress => Kingston Technology Company - Kingston Memory Search - Search Results for: KVR1333D3S9/4G
    If i'm use this ram, is there a any problem or somethink like that ??

    Thanks for your reply.I look that site but it's suggest it's own ram.I'm thinking to buy Kingston Technology Company - Kingston Memory Search - Search Results for: KVR1333D3S9/4G this ram.Any ideas ? If i plug this ram, is there a problem on my computer ?

    I would check with HP and see if that Kingston ram is on their list of compatible rams.
    Their are many things that have to be considered when choosing ram. The Kingston sit you went to and the site that 714 posted are both good starts. Verify that information with HP and your on your way.

    The Micron you have and the Kingston you want have the same basic specifications: 1333 speed DDR 3, 1.5 volt, 204 pin SO-DIMM.

    It will likely work, but I don't think that can be guaranteed.

    The qualified vendor list that Layback mentioned is a good idea, but the fact is that those lists are almost always incomplete and usually have a notice at the top saying they are incomplete. So, if it is not on the list, it still may work.

    The only sure alternative is to remove the Micron and buy 8 GB of of one brand so there won't be a possibility of conflict between the two brands.

    Thanks guys, i've searched on the internet but there are no vendor list or somethink like that.But i emailed hp about this and still waiting.I hope there are no problem with this ram :)
