    Wireless Keyboard/Mouse doesn't respond anymore?

Hi, I have the Microsoft wireless desktop 6000.

When I leave my computer on for a bit and walk away, the screen will turn off by itself (this is not standby!!!) and sometimes, the keyboard or mouse seems to have lost its connection to the computer, and will not respond to anything, I have to hit the reset button.

    Suggestions?

Have you tried working through these steps?

Troubleshoot response failures in wireless keyboard or mouse

    Updating your drivers?

    It's caused by software conflicts.
You can try to resovle the problem in a number of ways.

I don't know what will work, but that link is as good as I found.
You can try different mouse drivers, disable unneeded services, etc.
I have to say that 6000 owners report a too many issues for my taste, and my alternative would be to move to a different kb/mouse.
But you might get it fixed with some experimentation.

Sorry for super delayed response. Although I didn't try the drivers, I did try to set a screen saver to 1 minute, and that didn't fix the problem.

I also think my problem goes a little deeper than usual. I went into my BIOS and set my computer case power button to sleep the computer when pressed quickly. When the screen goes off and my kb/mouse doesn't wake the screen, I tried pressing the power button but it wouldn't sleep!! When the screen is on it sleeps just fine when the power button is pressed.
