The Samsung Magician benchmark measures Sequential numbers(535/528) in Megabytes per second and Random Read/Write in IOPS, or Input/Output Operations Per second. As far as I know your sequential numbers are higher in CDM because of the Rapid Mode feature of the drive. I'm assuming the Samsung Magician benchmark doesn't test using that feature.

Those are actually great numbers. Try running the AS SSD benchmark.

I own Crucial, Samsung, Intel and OCZ SSDs, and in actual useage, there is very little difference.
I have found OCZ products to be extremely reliable, with support that is second to none, exceeding all my expectations. You simply can't go wrong with OCZ.

    Here's the AS SSD :

Some of the nos. are similar to Crystal Disc - some are not.

I guess the EVO is okay - I just don't know which program to believe.

I wouldn't agonize over the differences.

That's a very strong score of 2183 in AS SSD, but you wouldn't likely notice the difference with a score of 400.

It's the Zuggriffszeit that counts and all SSDs are very high in that aspect when compared to HDDs.

    Thanks for your time, Kelly.

Still don't understand what Crystal and Otto are saying, but the heck with it.!

Here's my start time - still not as fast as yours, but happy with it anyway.

I believe you have Samsung's Rapid initiated. That is the difference in the numbers you see. Kelly can probably explain better, but rapid creates something similar to a ram disk. Some of the tests take readings from the ram disk and some actually read the SSD. There will be a wide discrepancy in the synthetic tests, but actual performance will be the same either way.

Yes, I do have Rapid activated.

I'm not complaining about performance - just trying to understand the diffs between the program scores.

In any event, Kelly has explained it - I'm just too thick-headed to comprehend.!
