    Drives not allowing Disc Write

I have tried these discs on two computers (they're Sony DVD-RW's) and brand new, I open them and put them in the disc tray, I press "burn" and it either pretends to write on one computer and then says error after 3minutes (no data is recorded) or it doesn't detect the disc it keeps saying "Please insert a Disc"? I've tried literally everything and I doubt it could be the disc's because they're brand new
    Kind Regards,

The windows fix it centre program identifies an issue but cannot fix it?

There are compatibility problems with some brands of disks on some brands of burners, particularly with RW disks.
So the first, best test is to try a different brand, or type, of disk and see if it can be recognized.

I'll have a look at Verbatim but I am not too sure on my drive, it works fine with everything else and it DID manage to write to a disc to 10% because I turned the disc over and there was lines from write on the reverse although it did not manage to get past 10% hm, so its possibility its the disc or?

If it works as expected using other disks but not with the Sony disks then it is most likely the Sony disks won't play nice with others.

If it happens with many brands and types of disks then it is most likely the drive.
