Component return rates study, with brand name and model

Just found the following study:

Components returns rates (5) (page 1: Introduction) - BeHardware

It covers various brands and models of hard drives, motherboards, power supplies, RAM, SSDs, and graphics cards.

This info is as of late 2011 and I think is periodically updated.

The stats are taken from the database of a large French etailer.

The statistics by brand are based on a minimum sample of 500 sales and those by model on a minimum sample of 100 sales, with the biggest volumes reaching tens of thousands of parts by brand and thousands of parts by model.

The two pictures accompanying the article are funny, anger issues or forcing things leading to the "defective parts."

Despite technician testing one wonders how many parts are really defective. At Newegg the one star reviews often show some as "technologically challenged" often ending their "review" with the emphatic "I will never buy another (fill in the blank) product again."

Nice to see Intel SSDs having the lowest return rate considering that's what's in my box.
