Printing Issues with W7 64k PC and HP LaserJet 1200 printer
Here is what I am working with:
Windows 7 Pro 64k desktop PC
HP Laserjet 1200 printer (using a D-Link print server to make it an IP printer)
The "issues" I am experiencing have to do with the print output. There are (3) different types of drivers I have tried, each getting a different, yet undesirable set of results. The drivers are the PCL5, PCL6 and PS drivers (two versions of each type of driver as well). And by print output, I mean....the text is skewed and in the wrong place following a print job.
The different types of documents I have tried printing are PDFs, Excel (.xls), Word (.docx). Additionally, there is an Access DB file that has built-in commands to print to the default printer.
When I use the PCL6 driver, the .adp files print correctly, but Word, Excel and PDFs do not print correctly. The printer does not output the desired page, but instead a
"PCL XL error message. Subsystem: KERNEL Error: Unsupported Protocol"
When I use the PCL5 and PS drivers, the Word, Excel and PDF documents print successfully (correctly I should say), but the .adp does not.
Does anyone know of a compatibility issue between Windows 7 64k and 1200 printers? Or is there (1) driver that is known to work best to be able to print any type of document? I did try using the HP Universal Print Driver and that did not remedy the issues. I also reset the D-Link print server and that did not remedy the issues either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated......
