On the back of the display, down in the lower left corner is a sticker.
There are two pieces of info to get from it: - The manufacturer (LG, or Phillips, etc)
- The model number - an LG display will look like this: LP174XD4(TL)(A1)
Now go to a website that sells Laptop screens and search for your exact model number. You will need to specify whether you want a glossy or matte screen, as most models come in both.
I have used this firm from Canada, and can confirm that the display they sent me was an exact replacement part, not a knockoff: LAPTOP SCREEN, LCD panels from $42. Dell, HP Compaq, Toshiba, Acer, IBM Lenovo, Sony, Gateway, Apple, Asus replacement screen display panel
Hope that helps. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built - Jan 2013 OS Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium SP1 CPU i7-3820 Motherboard Asus P9X79-PRO - Bios 3305 Memory GSkill F3-14900CL9Q - 16GB Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX660 - Driver 310.90 Sound Card On board Realtek ALC898 Monitor(s) Displays Acer S271HL Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard MS KC-0405 Mouse Intellimouse 5-button PSU Corsair CMPSU-850TX-V2 - 850 watt (by Seasonic) Case Corsair Obsidian 550D Cooling Standard 3 120mm case fans, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Hard Drives #1- Samsung 840 Pro Series

Yeah, you posted that link in your other thread. And you are right, you can't be sure from the information available.
Amazon is terrible in their product specs. And there is no chance of contacting them with questions. So I don't know what to tell you.
You may need to continue to search for a website that actually has the replacement, or contact LaptopScreen and see if they can get that part for you. It may be too new to be listed yet. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built - Jan 2013 OS Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium SP1 CPU i7-3820 Motherboard Asus P9X79-PRO - Bios 3305 Memory GSkill F3-14900CL9Q - 16GB Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX660 - Driver 310.90 Sound Card On board Realtek ALC898 Monitor(s) Displays Acer S271HL Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard MS KC-0405 Mouse Intellimouse 5-button PSU Corsair CMPSU-850TX-V2 - 850 watt (by Seasonic) Case Corsair Obsidian 550D Cooling Standard 3 120mm case fans, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Hard Drives #1- Samsung 840 Pro Series

Try a local and authorized Sony retailer? They could have the part your looking for or even someone who can do it for you. Just don't let anyone fix it because it could get worst =) Hope that helps | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number IanDrexP OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (32bit) CPU 2nd Generation Intel Core i3-2120 @ 3.30GHz Motherboard ASUS P8H61-M LX (Rev 3.0) Memory 1x Kingston @ 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Graphics Card 1x PALIT nVidia GeForce 210 @ 1GB DDR3 Sound Card Realtek ALC887 (On-Board) Monitor(s) Displays DELL 17-inch LCD Monitor Screen Resolution 1280x960 (Monitor) & 1176x664 (LCD TV) Keyboard Fortress K3103 (Stock from Case) Mouse Hewlett-Packard Optical Mouse PSU Fortress GPL-3CMSF @ 700W (Stock from Case) Case Fortress D201BR Cooling Stock Intel CPU Heatsink/Fan, 1x 120mm Fan & 1x 80mm Fan Hard Drives Western Digital Caviar Blue @ 500GB (Internal) & Western Digital Elements @ 500GB (External) Internet Speed PLDT DSL @ (1.5 Mbps ↓ & 0.75 Mbps ↑ ) Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Browser Mozilla Firefox Other Info Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS): Intex UPS 600VA | Speakers: Edifier 2.1 Speaker System | LCD TV: Samsung LN540520X/XAA via HDMI |

I have purchased off ebay many times using label information off back of lcd as described above. The brand of laptop is irrelevant. Just need correct display and make SURE display cable connection matches your mobo.
Sometimes I search laptop model for parts... But that has risk of wrong lcd model
Amazon not a good place to look and other resellers typically. $$$. The other benefit of ebay is you can contact seller and know all details of item before you buy... Including close up pics.
Happy to help you find one... Just need close up pics of label and cable end
For example http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...d=400228563902
