Intel i3 or AMD Processor

Can i have an honest opinion if any of these AMD processors will be more future proof, Best for gaming, best for multitasking and overall best

I will be using 4gb of RAM and a GTX550 ti as my graphics card
If you could suggest any other good CPUs for under £90 i would be gratefull

Forget the future-proofing thing. No one can tell you what sockets will be used 3 years from now.

For gaming alone, it probably makes little difference assuming you have a reasonable CPU. Most gaming performance is derived from your graphics card anyway.

For non-gaming, about all you can do is look at Passmark benchmarks, which I think you have been previously made aware of.

There are certain special cases where AMD might be preferred or Intel might be preferred. We have no reason to believe you are a special case.

If you didn't know if you had AMD or Intel, you probably couldn't tell by using the PC for most user profiles.

Most of the arm-waving about AMD/Intel is fanboy drivel, like Apple versus PC or Ford versus Chevrolet. If you find someone with a very strong opinion, he is likely a fanboy.

Do some basic research, buy, and don't spend a lot of time second guessing yourself.

Three years from today, if you wanted to upgrade, you would likely need a new motherboard, new RAM, and new CPU anyway. Sockets might last 2 years, but not likely 5.

With the Fractal case and the XFX power supply, you should have a good foundation for the next 5 years, probably more.

As I recall, you won't be buying in the immediate future--possibly for several months or more. So re-evaluate at that time, based on what is available THEN, not now.

the only way to future proof is to buy the best available and hope it is good enough in 3-4 years time, sockets chipsets can change and not be compatible with older hardware.

there is no way to know if the current standard will be the standard of new hardware in a few years time, ddr4 for example was due this year using a different socket though now delayed no eta on that, i'd be willing to place a bet that there will be a new standard of all hardware types in a few years, ssd's are improving in so many ways that the current limitations are holding back development, same goes for graphics cards hence the update to pci-e 3.0 which may get changed in a few years, cpu's will change as they always have done and new technologies regarding networking will come along changing everything again.

new wireless standard coming soon as well as someone pointed out on another thread will support 60gb's now that will cap your usb so thats pointless your pci slots won't pull that and your pci-e x1 slots will be ok at least.

get the best you can for the money and enjoy, don't waste money and plan for now instead of 3 years down the line.

It may tend towards the latest hardware. Some of the CPUs that you list are older.

Forget "upgradability". Sockets and chipsets change too often. Build the best system that your finances will allow, and enjoy it until it no longer serves your needs.
