USB write protected?

    i hope so. it took me a while of hesitation when i saw the description that included the word format or so... but here it is.

    OK. If you right-click inside the F: rectangle, is there an option called Initialise disk or similar?

    Or try and click the area to the left that says Disk 2.

    well, as you can see - nothing like that in there. even when i clicked on properties, it shows zeroes in full or empty, but by color it appears as full...

    have i really killed the disc with the killdisc?

    Try click in area shown below - what options do you have there?

    Mmmm. OK, one last attempt. Please try the following in a cmd window again: (note : we are using clean all instead of clean)

    diskpart
    list disk


    (make sure the 60GB is still disk 2)

    select disk 2

    (make sure disk 2 has been selected)

    attributes disk clear readonly
    clean
    all

    Now check to see if the USB is empty.

    No worries. If that doesn't work, then I think that its likely that the firmware of the USB is not allowing us access, so there is nothing we can do. Only the manufacturer can fix that

    how can the manufacturer fix that? will someone have access to my data after all?
