The I3 is a 65W. The Phenom II, 125, which mainly suggests that it's an older design.
I haven't bought an AMD CPU since the Athlon 64 X2 (Socket 939) days. I'd cheerfully buy another if it offered a performance advantage over Intel (as in the P4 days).
