Poor SSD performance

    Well, that's the thing isn't it? It's an established fact that new tech doesn't always play well with old tech. And sometimes just because a manufacturer claims their gear supports xxxx doesn't mean it always happens in the real world.

    I have 2 grand worth of barely used parts sitting in their boxes because of my upgrade path. How bad do we want the latest gear and what price are we willing to pay to be able to use it?........

    Sadly my friend I have to stand by my previous advice......

    Yes I have upgraded SSD firmware to the latest version. Before that, it wasnt even booting on AHCI mode. Just constant BSODs after win7 setup.

    Strange. That could potentially be a bad drive. Have you contacted their support for ideas...or for a possible replacement?

    And about getting new set of hardware, new cpu and ram will add nothing to my computing experince. the performance gain will only be on paper (for my needs of course) but an SSD changes the world

    Unfortunately I live in a country where comsumer rights are seriously underrated. Asking a replacement is a long hard path to follow so I want to make sure that I tried everything else before I go down that road. I just wish I had a chance to test the drive on a separate system.

    no need. download CrystalDiskInfo CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World very reliable and trustworthy and Free..tells you all you need to know disc health wise....
