Cheers. Prior to that, though, do I just have to burn the Windows 7 ISO to disk or is it more complicated than that?

Right click the iso file/burn image to disk. If you have a blank DVD in your drive, follow the prompts from there.
Do I need to keep any of the Windows files or just move the data I want to try and rescue? If I do have to buy a new hard drive will it be possible to save my Windows without buying another one as I didn't ever get an install disk with my laptop?
If you have burned the iso you now have an install disk.
Save your personal data, all W7 files are in the installer.
Still nothing I'm afraid. Think I'm gonna give up and take it somewhere.
