Recent memory stick failure case on an amd sabertooth caused non graphics post, non disk post, non cpu post, non ram post and operating system 'failures' depending on how it decided to boot each time. Using onboard diagnostics was useless!

Power supply failure with a faulty capacitor about to blow(explode) is often cause of intermittant failure to power-up + causes hard drive/operating system failures. (check m/board for leaks too)

Hope you are plugged into anti-surge/power spike extension sockets cos drills/fridges/washing machines switching on-off etc kill computer parts fast (and brown-outs from poor power company supply)
