I have a i7-3770k and a GTx 570, (dual DVI and a minin HDMI port) And i need a new monitor because mine is ancient, does anybody have preferred brands for monitors? My budget is 100-200$ Any suggestions?

I've been very pleased with my LG's but Samsung was my first choice but more costly.

Are you looking for a 3D monitor?

LG and Samsung have some amazing panels, while Hannspree offer affordability if you want a good balance of cost:quality.

My main screen is a Hannspree while I used to use a Samsung series 4 (both HDTVs lawl) which is now relegated to serving my PS3 and Xbox downstairs while the Hannspree serves my PC.

    Newegg.com - LG E2241VB-BN Black 21.5" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LED-Backlit Super Energy Saving LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 DFC 5M:1 (1000:1)
Decent 21.5" LG here with a purported response time of 5ms and a HDMI port for making full use of the digital out of your graphics card.

    Newegg.com - SAMSUNG S20B350H Transparent Red 20" 2ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED-Backlit LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 1000:1 / Mega Infinity DCR
A Samsung here, 20" with 2ms response time and HDMI.

    Newegg.com - SAMSUNG B350 Series S22B350H Transparent Red 21.5" 2ms GTG HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 Mega Infinity DCR (1000:1)
Or the 23" version for $30 more

Just a few ideas to get you started.

Always ignore contrast ratio as there are different ways of measuring it and some companies use whichever method gives them the highest figure.

That Asus is very nice if you were being literal about $200 being the upper limit

If you are patient, they run sales on them occasionally. I think I paid somewhere around $175 for mine.

I've heard that some asus moniters come with a dead pixel/Doa ect... And then the asus customer support is even worse. Are asus moniters a good brand also? They have a moniter that caught my eye.

I believe any brand of monitor can come with a dead pixel. All I can tell you is I have 2 Asus monitors and neither one had a dead pixel.

Any time. You may want to go to Newegg and find some you like and read the user feedback. That may help, even if you don't buy from there.
