Keyboard Just Stops Working (wireless or not)

For the past couple of days my keyboard starts to go crazy after about 2 hours worth of use. It will not let me type. And, if I hit a letter it will do something else that it shouldn't. For instance, if I hit the "letter" key it opens the file/save as.

I read a very old post here and tried to do what that said. I changed my batteries, cleaned the keyboard, and even used a different keyboard that isn't wireless. The very same thing happens no matter which keyboard I use.

Sometimes if I wait a few minutes and reboot it is fine again (like right now). This just started happening. Do you have any advice what might be causing this?

By the way, my mouse works fine.

Thanks for your help.

Diana

I suggest posting on one of the sites that have some good malware removal folks, like:

whatthetech.com
geekstogo.com
spybot.info

You could try running Malware Bytes Anti Malware (free version) and see if it finds anything. Download it on another computer. Boot to Safe Mode with Networking then install it on this computer if necessary. Let it update then do a Quick Scan, see what it finds. Let it fix everything.

Also do a scan with your installed anti-virus software (in Safe Mode if it allows it). If no help then go with one of the above sites. They are all busy so it may take a day or two before they can get to you.

I did run Malware Bytes before I posted. It found nothing.

Just a point I also thought of, I don't know if this has anything to do with what is going on. Something happened last night too. My computer would not shut down. It got to the "shutting down" screen & just sat there spinning. After about 10 minutes I finally just had to shut it down myself. When I rebooted today it was fine. That is until the keyboard stopped working again.

I will try your other advice and see if that helps.

Try booting to Safe Mode with Networking, see if the problem occurs there or not.
