    SSD on SATA II...!

    Hi,

One more day and my Plextor M5P will arrive! But, finally I found that my Tecra R840 (i7-2640M) will not work at SATA III specs but at SATA II .

My question: will be much of a difference in the real world?
And will I really find, even so, a speed improvement over the original seagate Momentus 7200.4 hdd?

And as if not enough, just saw this link I found in the Plextor forum: http://registration.goplextor.com/en...m=17&topic=116

    Regards,
    paulo

No, no real difference. Where SSD shine is random reads/writes and this will not be affected. Only your sequential reads and writes will be affected - your sequential reads will be limited to about 260 MB/s - your sequential writes will probably be less than this in any case.
