Keyboard Problem

I have a fresh install of Windows 7 "release for production" version with a Microsoft Wireless Laser desktop 6000 keyboard and mouse combo. Under XP it worked perfectly but under Windows 7 the numeric pad doesn't work. I've tried removing the driver and reinstalling with no luck -

Help!

could you go into search type device manager. look for the keyboard driver. Is it working properly. Are there any "unknown devices" (one with yellow triangle on it)?

What do you mean by "the numeric pad doesn't work"? Is the NumLock on?

I suggest to check with the On-screen Keyboard whether the function works at all. If it does, then you have a keyboard/driver problem. The On-screen keyboard you should find in All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Use.

OK - let me answer all the suggestions:

zigzag3143: I do have 1 item which I'm not sure what it is - under Other devices - unknown device - all the k/b, mice & pointing devices show OK

Dwarf - yes the Num Lock is on - I toggle back and forth but I still can't type a number (I do hear the beep when toggling thru the speakers)

myzr7 - yes

whs - I did as u suggested but in the display it doesn't show the number pad - just over to that area.

On the On-Screen Keyboard click Options and then from the menu that appears check the option Turn on numeric key pad and then click OK.

Well - all was working but I took your advise and upgraded my drivers from 6.1 to 7.0 now it doesn't work I did mention before I could upgrade I needed to uninstall the previous version which I did but that was for IntelliPoint - IntelliType was never a app that was installed. I went ahead and installed both and like I said - not it doesn't work.
