How do I check/change the speed of my fans?

I realised why my system was overheating. The fan speed was only at 26% I manually increased this through the use of a program, it ran smoother and cooler. Thanks for the advice everybody.

That's good and great and all, but you have to think why did it used to run fine @ 26% and now it's running too hot? A new higher performance video card will introduce more heat into the case. You still may need to clean your components off. I'm not saying they have a layered coating of dust on them, but as electrical components attract dust quicker than anything, there might be just enough to keep the heat from dissipating properly, making your system heat up. Also, if you have heatsinks with fans covering them, you might not see all of the dust, but it is still there. Give it a blast with some compressed air, blow it off the components and then out of the case. Get the fans/heatsinks really good. See if that won't help some.

The card takes up I think 4 slots so 3 for the fans 1 for the card. either way I will clean it out but I think it may just be the card as before I put it in I never had this issue.
