It is a pcie slot and not a pci slot. For the difference...

no problems about the pcie slots. In the above picture, would a PCIe x1 work on a PCIe x16 slot?

So I did the uninstall, remove hardware, install software, install hardware again, still doesn't work. I am beginning to give up hope.

Maybe I should just get another card.

Can you recommend a card that should be compatible with the motherboard and x64 windows 7. Preferably an inexpensive card. I am in Canada so supplying links to a deal will probably not be needed. If you need anymore info I will try to provide it.

Have you tried rebooting since installing the driver and card? Srry about the card. I'm not very familar with them. I willsee what I can locate.

Find one you like from this list. It should be sorted by best rating. There is a Newegg CA, for Canada.

I tried the rebooting. I restart the computer after each uninstall and install.

How would I know whether a card is compatible with my computer? I guess I have to look at the manufacturer manual.

I'm just sorry I couldn't find the answer for you. There seems to be a way to do it. I just can't find it.

Check and make sure you have the card set up right. If you want to take a big gamble, let me know. I have a NEC USB 3.0 driver I used for a card I had in another computer. It is not for your card, but could work. It is a gamble though.

I do think my card is set up right. How big of a gamble would your driver be? Would I need to backup everything on my computer?
