    Worried about my hdd


    I got a new computer about a month ago and im worried about my hdd. it hasnt acted up for me but the reviews seem to say DOA / failed
    932GB Western Digital WDC WD10EALX-009BA0 (SATA) is my hdd.
    Should I worry? or not

    Yes, download, burn to CD, and run the Western Digital Drive Diagnostics program and see if it reports the same errors. You can find this on the WD website.

    Your RAW READ ERROR RATE is 200. The threshold is 51.
    Your SPIN UP TIME is 178. The threshold is 21.
    Your START/STOP COUNT is 100. The threshold is 0.
    Your REALLOCATION SECTOR COUNT is 200. The threshold is 140.

    This could be the software misreading the drive. That is why the suggestion to use the manufacturer's diagnostic to check it.

    Not it isn't. You are looking at the wrong columns. The important numbers here is the in the RAW value columns, which are 0 for reallocated sectors and read error rate. That is why it is all green.
