laptop wont boot with ssd and hdd installed after os swap

ok, well long story short, i bought a new laptop, an asus g75vw best buy model. i knew it had a slow hdd so i got a ssd while i was there. i searched online how to swap windows to the ssd and found what seemed like a good artilce on howtogeek.com(link How To Migrate Windows 7 to a Solid State Drive - How-To Geek). so i did everything here, brought the os over, and the 200mb system partion thought i was ready to go so i removed the hdd and tried to boot, missing bootmgr. i replaced the hdd and left the ssd in, now windows will not boot with both drives installed, and i cant get it do boot from the recovery disk either. i am really at a loss here, i was hoping to just try to redo what i did to the ssd, but i obviously have another issue now. if anyone can help me please, i am begging lol.

Have you tried a clean install? Also have you checked the bios for the correct settings? AHCI

Unfortunatelyy laptop did not come with a recovery disk, but I DoD make one before this. The problem is that it will not boot off the disk for some reason, I keep getting a message that says this is not a system disk. And as for the ahci I looked through the bios and did not see any option to switch between ide and ahci.

If you happen to have a spare dvd to burn to, try this. It will be a complete clean install of Windows.

No problem. Just make sure to get the drivers you need.

Yeah, it does make a huge difference. I got one for my desktop and I boot in like 10 seconds. My programs open much faster.
