So if I replace the HDD myself can I reuse this drive?
In a word, no, it's bad.
Well, it has platters inside which make good coasters and some very strong magnets which are fun to have.

So I have HP sending me a new HDD. How can I copy everything from this HDD to that one, I have everything backed up but I would like to not have to re download everything.

And I love magnets so I might just take that apart!

You will have to connect the drive via a USB adapter or a dock. You should also install w7 to the new drive first.

Yes you can clone but you'd still need to have the destination drive attached in some way, or put both drive in another PC and use Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download

Ok so I can use that program when I have the new operating system installed and attach the old HDD to clone its content to the new one.

No no no. A clone is a complete, exact copy of a drive
