Tons of problems with USB Root Hub
Okay, I'm new to this forum so if I do anything incorrectly I'm quite sorry
I've recently had tons of problems with my USB Root Hub. I was getting some BSOD's (not the issue), and I found that my usb root hub had an exclamation point in device manager.
Okay, good, cool, no more bsod's. Until I plugged in a usb drive to do a school project. The driver installed, and then Windows brought up a message saying "This device can perform faster". I couldn't access the files on it, nor would anything else usb related work.
So, I uninstalled the usb root hub again. After re-installing/checking for hardware changes, nothing happened, until I checked device manager, which had this strange "USB Mass Storage Device".
Uninstalling that and checking for hardware changes, the device installed fine, but then the empty usbs would slowly appear in Computer, and after all of them appeared, they just suddenly disappeared.
The usb root hubs then exclamation pointed again, setting me back to where I was before.
In safe mode, I can install them and view the files on my drive no problem. Even if I keep the usb plugged in/keep the drivers the way they were in safe mode and reboot, the usb appears to be fine in normal mode, until I unplug the drive and plug it back in.
If this sounded really bizzare, it's exactly how it sounds. In a nutshell, the usb driver appears to be being pushed back by something and erroring out.
Any help would be nice..
