I've disassembled some mostly with pure guessing, though managed to fix them up.

Very good tips and guidance. Will keep it as references.

    Thanks John, Appreciate it much.

No probs Kevin just wished I had counted the bottom screws in my main laptop before I broke off a screw stand I had missed.

Wouldn't be so bad if it was just a stand off but it has some sort of earthing strap that came off with the darn thing

Oh well perhaps the two pack might fix the stand off it is the aluminium strap that has got me wondering what to do

That normally happen to us at any given situation.
What made me smile to myself is that I did it as if I'm a bomb squad that try to disassemble one inside a briefcase with many cable traps in it. :)
Prepared some small pots for the screws. I mostly slip my finger nail around the case to find how it can be opened. Even drawing a simple map in a wide paper to put all parts with necessary notes and work sequence. That won't make me at lost in case of suddenly my wife yell at me to run to the nearest store for a bottle of milk.

Yeah Kevin I have been working on a little thing I call a "wrinkle" - that is an old English term we used to use for a tip for fixing something or a way around something that isn't strictly conventional. I have taken some shots of my new disassembly set up and am going to post soon.

That darn screw well it was right next to the wireless adaptor and so virtually near the centre of the board the strap I think earths the touch pad - which I never use but if they made the screws gold coloured or just left them silver instead of jet black ones dopes like me wouldn't miss the things. I reckon I can fix the earth problem with some fine wire if need be or I might get lucky and get solder to stick to that strap.

LOL!! Well at least I don't have a a woman in my life anymore so don't have to worry re the mess and the "battle zone" - you know the odd sock or three lying around
