That's good news!

Was it the fan for the PSU? Do you suspect the PSU was running hot? Was the drive mounted close to the PSU?

Or maybe it was undervoltage...

Go ahead and give him a whack! Just tell him it was from one of us. He's supposed to take care of his little sis afterall.

Good that you found the cause, I'm going with 'give him a whack!'
What PSU do you have?

Be careful, worst case scenario a bad PSU can damage all of the other components, permanently.

Let us know your progress.

PSU. I'm not sure if the PSU was running hot.. I never checked. But like I said one short circuit screwed my other PSU so I got this one the next day. It made sounds from day 1, cricket insect sound (that's how I describe it, lol). I complained to Ahmed (my brother) several times but he said me to ignore it...which I did till I changed the casing .. BTW, yes the hard disk was set a lil above the PSU.

I think I've progressed quite well. I didn't hear any sounds at all since the time I changed the casing & PSU (Like entire week). However, I will update this thread if I ever hear it again.

Till then I'll mark this as solved. Thank you everyone for your input

[I'm not sure what brand the PSU is, I didn't check. Once I do, I will post it on my specs]

Thank you my friends

Let us know if it's running ok.

You'll have to open the case and look at the PSU information.
