Nope. This is the Service Pack For Your Windows 7 OS
Thanks Paulo.
stoleaway: Windows Update should have offered SP1 to you at some point. First thing before we go further, Run Windows Update let it do what it's supposed to do. If there are no updates..... hmmmm
Darn, went to check the image you posted, but the top is cut off, that's where it would have confirmed the version. I'm fairly certain you're not up-to-date, but wanted Windows to confirm that.
One thing - when I or anyone ask you to post information, please protect your privacy. If it is an image, you can use the eraser tool in Paint to remove information from teh image before you post it. If it's just a text file, delete the sensitive info from the file before posting. What's sensitive information?
any address - eMail addresses, home addresses, work addresses.....
Identification - tax numbers, benefit numbers, access numbers.......
License information - keys, serial numbers....
could you edit the post with the Speccy output and make sure you delete information referencing key and serial number. You should be able to just hightlight the sensitive data and delete it. Some people consider their name and location as sensitive (I do... sort of), so you can remove that too if you want.
If windows update didn't offer you SP1 or it was hidden for some reason, you can download it here(windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe | 903.2MB), but let's make sure I'm right about that first.
On the System inforrmation screen it will say SP1 if it is in fact SP1 - if yours does, then I don't know my Windows releases well enough. Check windows version (Control Panel/System or Rt click Computer and select properties) and please post another image with the top showing (where it tells you the relase information)
Might as well catch up on the status
- did the scan find anything? If yes, let me know what and what was done.
- were you able to move DEAMON tools out of the way?
- are there any alerts/warnings/errors in Dev Mgr?
- did you speak with Seagate (warranty)
- any more information on generic multi card usb device?
- how was work?
How about a screenshot of the disks as seen from Computer and as seen from Disk Mgmnt
Don't worry about knowing computers.... you'll learn a lot though this exercise. Our time difference will make it more difficult.
Thanks,
Bill
.
ok, good info - that Disk Mgmnt looks much better (just the drives on theLaptopDesktop) and the WD info helps too. I was beginning to think your system mis-identified your Seagate as a WD - phew!
I'll wait a bit for the next stuff you post. you're doing well, I was typing my previous post asking for updates info while you were posting the info I needed - thanks
Bill

Recommnedations based on your Speccy output.
Security Software
Windows update:
- Defender is disabled, it should be enabled
- Norton Internet Security is enabled as your firewall - this is ok, unless Norton AV is also active.
- MSE is enabled as your AntiVirus - this is ok, unless Norton AV is also active.
You should only have one AV application running (Defender doesn't count and is ok to run with an AV application).
If Norton AV is running, stop MSE. I'm guessing that you have a paid license with Norton.
Power Profile:
- You have it scheduled and are receiving critical updates,
Check and change if not set - in Windows update, receive recommended updates the same way I receive important updates
Not sure why SP1 wasn't reported
Programs:
- Hiberbation is on - turn it off for now
Rt click command prompt on your start menu and select "Run as administrator"
in the Command Prompt window type
powercfg -h off
then type
exit (closes the command prompt window)
That's about it - nothing too ominous
- uninstall Reg Mechanic
- uninstall SUPERantiSpyware (I know ICol2lol suggested that, but for now please take it off)
- uninstall PC tools
- uninstall tudouva
did the scan using malwarebytes, there are some virus, but they are removed now? I've edited the speccy thingy. Hope that is okay.

& oh, there is the SP1 update! :) I am updating it right now ^^
I removed Daemon tools as instructed and theere are no warnings/ alerts/ errors in dev mgr, I removed the generic multi card usb device and work? (myw ork? well it's okay, same old same old haha
Ok all good news.
One of the moderators informed me of the info in your Speccy output, so I'm fairly sure that sensitive information isn't there.
Did Malwarebytes say they were removed? If you're not sure, run Malwarebytes again..... but don't overtax your system with too many things.
Let things percolate a bit, SP1 will take a while. Why don't we pick this up tomorrow - it's getting late over there.
Even if we don't solve the Seagate drive issue (might be hardware) - your system will be in far better shape. We can try a few other things when SP1 and Malwarebytes, 2nd run, finish.
Wait, are you telling me that your removed the generic multi card usb device (GMCUD from now on) and your drive works? or are you making fun of my poor typing - I deserve it for not using a spell checker
I have to redearch / brush up on a few things anyway.
Bill
.
I removed generic multi card usb device but my seagate is still not working it is still updating, so I will update you with more tomorrow and hopefully the ext hdd will work eventually thanks for helping really I appreciate it ^^
Oh, I see..... you were answering my question about work. :)
Ok, we'll pick up after work tomorrow.
Edit: Disconnect the Seagate - there might be bugs on it. Malwarebytes found something on your system, so we don't won't anything coming back over from the Seagate. Once things settle down, you can run a scan on that drive.... the whole system.

Sorry for late rep[ly but you know how it goes. The SuperAntiSpyware is just a straight forward download and run really.
It picks up stuff especially trackers I find - but is much like Malwarebytes very easy to use.
Sorry stoleaway Bill is on the track of this one. But for what it's worth I don't like large drives to be honest too much to be lost in th event of a crash or worse a catastrophic failure in the mechanics of the thing. I suppose there are places that can retrieve stuff off dead body parts but sounds expensive to me.
