Element external Hard drive no longer recognized by Win 7?

    Heyya

I have a terabyte external, WD Element I think. I have never had an issues before but today I plug it in (to play Diablo III) and it is not being recognized. At all. It's not in Disk Management, I can't find it anywhere. Suggestions or reasons this might be happening out of no where??

    Thanks

    Hi obryae,

    Welcome to SevenForums.

    The usual suggested procedures:

    1. Change the USB cable and check.

    2. Connect the elements to the rear port of your PC if you are using it on a desktop and check.

    3. If it is a desktop elements, check whether the power brick is OK. If dead the elements will not work.

    4. Connect your elements to another machine and check whether it works.

From the above suggestions you will realise how important it is to give full particulars of your elements whether it is a desktop element or portable element, whether you are using it on a desktop or laptop etc.,

Would it be difficult for you to read the label on the elements and post the exact model number?
