Changing Printing Preferences

I click on Devices and Printers.
I right-click my Printer, then click Printing Preferences (it's a network printer).
I change the Original Size to A4, then click apply.

When I try to print, the Original Size is wrong!
When I go back to my printer's preferences, my change is not there anymore.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Welcome Jozi68, You need to look at the security of the printer, If you are a admin, then you need to check the security settings of the printer and make sure that the check boxes are all checked for everyone.

Hello Rich,
I've changed security in the following way:
Right-click on printer in 'Devices and Printers', click on Printer Properties.
On the Security tab, checked all the Allow boxes.

Unfortunately this did not work. Any other ideas?
How do I connect to a network printer as Administrator? Maybe if I could do that?

You would still access the printer the same way, but if it is a network printer, those security options, and even the configuration of the printer could be set on a server. Is this a companmy network printer, or a home network one?

It's a company network printer, but I can get onto the network as an administrator from my laptop.

If so, and you can eliminate any permissions issues, then you may want to look into a driver update for the server.

Is this a shared printer attached to another computer or is it attached directly to the network?
if shared, then the holder has to change the security.
if not then it might be the drivers..
