My keyboard behaves as if I am constantly holding down the control key. I thought it might be the keyboard, but when I turn on the on-screen keyboard my real keyboard works fine! My real keyboard continues to work for a little while when I close the on-screen keyboard. However, within 10 to 15 minutes it's back to behaving as if I'm holding down the control key. Right now I'm using my real keybord with the on-screen keyboard minimized. That is the only way I can get it to work properly. I have no clue why it would do this.
So it is not a problem with the keyboard and/or drivers
. I plugged in my sons keyboard, different brand, and it still did it. Some forums say to try Cntrl-Alt-Del and then it mysterously works. I didn't really understand what that ment and there was no expansion on this idea. So I tried the combo of buttons and found that for some reason I could not activate all of them at once with out also using the on-screen keyboard. The Cntrl and ALt button worked on the real keyboard but I couldn't also activate the del button. So I pressed this on the on-screen keyboard then the screen came up. I then could then close everything, including the Cntrl-Alt-Del screen, and the keyboard still worked. The true test came when I restarted the computer. When I did this . . . guess what? The keyboard acted like I was holding the cntrl key down. Again I turned on the on-screen keyboard and it worked again. I don't want to have to turn this on every morning.
