Windows upgrade from XP to Windows Premium Home 7 64 bit, Problem.

Hello recently I upgraded from XP to Windows Premium Home 7 64 bit.
Right after that my Brother hl-3070cw told me the factory original toner was low and refuses to print.
I replaced the old toner with a new one.
The printer says that it it READY.

    But It Refuses to Print.

The printer will not even print the default Test Print.

    Anybody have a solution?

    Stupid question:

Have you installed the drivers for the HL-3070CW?

I have one, and it has a full driver suite for Win7 X64, available for download from Brother. The interface that I use is an Ethernet connection from the printer to a router. My main desktop is hardwired to the router, but I also have a laptop and secondary desktop that connect using WiFi. All three can print directly to the 3070.

I have run into a same problem slightly, I had a customer bring in her new desktop computer and her old printer, I tried transferring as much data as I could, but do take in mind a lot of software that is compatible with Windows XP will not always be compatible with Windows 7. Unfortunately her printer would work for everything but the copier. The software for the printer was never converted to work with Windows 7 leaving her without that feature, now this might be a similar case where the printer is not compatible with Windows 7 but that is left open for debate. You can always try downloading the drivers if they have ones supporting Windows 7 64bit but your options might be left up to purchasing a new printer!

    Hopefully this helps you!

    Good luck!

I will double check my drivers. Originally when I use the internal troubleshoot feature and when I looked at the settings. The driver seemed to be ok.

So I d/l and installed the latest 64 bit driver for my printer. Cleared the memory and tested it with printing a word doc.. It still doesn't work.

Have you tried the drivers from here? Brother: HL-3070CW: Downloads: United States. I am uncertain if they will work.

    Update!!!
    Thanks for this link.
I used it, d/l the Right Drivers and Now I am Back to Printing.

Funny thing! I have been d/l drivers from this site but obliviously not the right one.
It's frustrating when things are not working the way you think they should.

    Oh and something else.
The driver comes with a "Printer Monitor", this time around I chose to Un-Select it.
The computer defaulted to the FAX Machine.
Strange! There is NO Fax Machine connected to my computer.
I had to reset the Default to the Printer before I got it working.

I Spoke to Soon. Problem Unresolved.

I Spoke to Soon. The old printer driver will Not uninstall.
I Have been surfing the web for answers and have come here for help again.

Problem the old print driver can't be uninstalled.
It says that it in-use and the driver package can not be uninstalled.

I have been going to all the other web help links but nothing seems to work.

Window 7 x64 won't let me remove the old printer driver. So I can't print.
It almost looks like it would easier to reformat the drive and reinstall Windows 7 x64 Home Premium from scratch.

    Anybody got a Solution?
