Code 43 USB device
There are other Code 43 posts, but none seemed to me to be exactly on point.
When the error box pops up, I see, for example:
Device Manager lists: (omitting a few characters for brevity)
8 Intel Universal Host Controllers
1 Realtek Card Reader
4 PCI to USB Host Controllers
4 OpenHCD USB Host Controllers
1 Unknown Device
2 USB Composite Device
2 USB Mass Storage Devices
16 USB Root Hubs
That is 32 entries, which is for me too many to attempt to troubleshoot without more information. I do have a 4-port PCI card on the motherboard, to supplement those available on the computer from the Dell assembly plant. I count 3 USB sockets on the top of the box, 1 on the front, 5 as originally built-in (grouped next to an Ethernet socket), and 4 on the PCI card. I am not at this time using any external hub, powered or unpowered.
Because the error popup does not happen consistently, as far as I can tell, I am a bit unwilling to connect and disconnect each device in turn to see if it triggers the popup.
Is there no information in the Port 2 Hub 15 ?
