How much better is Vishera from Bulldozer
But I am focussed on the FX-4170 and the FX-4300

I saw a few comments the other day that it was a slight improvement on Bulldozer (10 percent or so improvement in performance) and a bit cheaper, but still not competitive with i5 and i7 for most user scenarios. Still uses a lot of electricity.

What about compared to the i3 3240 (on cpubenchmarks, the i3 is about 0.900 below the Fx-4300) would that mean that it is faster

I just looked at 30 or 40 benchmarks comparing the 3220 Intel to the 4300 AMD. Not the 3240.

The 3220 won about 3 out of 4 of them.

    And I found this quote:

Ultimately Vishera is an easier AMD product to recommend than Zambezi before it. However the areas in which we'd recommend it are limited to those heavily threaded applications that show very little serialization. As our compiler benchmark shows, a good balance of single and multithreaded workloads within a single application can dramatically change the standings between AMD and Intel. You have to understand your workload very well to know whether or not Vishera is the right platform for it. Even if the fit is right, you have to be ok with the increased power consumption over Intel as well.

I found some for the 3220 and the fx-4170 and as 4300 is 15% better then it would be quite a bit better

You can read full reviews of the entire Vishera line, with dozens of benchmarks at Anandtech.

    This^^

If the applications/programs you are running depend on lots of cores/threads, it will work pretty decent for a decent price. Almost any Intel i5 and up will beat it to death on 90% of tasks though.

The Initial improvment is about 15 to 20 % better then the 8150 -8350 chip

Also they changed the floater operations and changed the pipeline structure of the old Bulldozer chip

Im wondering seriously if they only corrected the existing FX chip into the one we see now like 8350 just a ramped up 8150 with better operation structure

I will be ordering one next week so ... looking forward to seeing if it really does a full backflip compared to what i am running now

Just to Inform some people out there about this new CPU

It is Comparable to the I5-3550 it is about 4% better overall which is pretty amazing since they botched the first generation

also here are some valid results for the 6300 series

Now AMD people have something to smile about it isn't a massive Intel beater or any of that but simply happier this is turning into a more positive situation

    for AMD atleast

also uses less power sick power draw but still not better then intels like K brady stated
