Internal Drive disappears"G:\ Refers to a location that is unavailabe"
Hey everyone,
This is my first post here, and it is because of a terrible problem I am having where one of my internal drives literally just disappears from my computer after about 15 minutes of my computer running. If I restart the computer the drive will come back but then just disappear again after like 15 minutes of use. If I pull the drive out and hook it up to a USB hard drive dock, it will show up fine there. It is just a 250gb SATA drive. The only odd thing I can think of is that I use it to store all of the personal files that are usually stored on the C:\ system drive. When I installed the OS a few years ago, I went through the steps to get my personal data off the system drive in case of a crash. I doubt that could be causing the problem because it worked fine for a long time like that? I remember having to do some weird things in the registry or something to get the users folder to point to another drive.
Here is a picture of the error message that comes up after the drive decided to not be hooked up anymore.
The problem has existed for probably close to a year now.. It got me so fed up with this desktop that I just stopped using it and started using my macbook exclusively for about a year. I am trying to start using this computer for backups since it can hold much larger (and more numerous hard drives) than the macbook could ever dream to).
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Sam
